On the client's side of the table since 2001.
We're an independent energy advisory firm — we represent the buyer, never the supplier. Here's how that started, and why clients stay with us for the long term.

The year one conversation became a company.
It started with a two-hour conversation.
It began as a two-hour conversation between our founder and the CEO and CFO of a major Texas grocery chain. Less than a year later, in 2001, Texas Energy Options, Inc. was founded — sitting squarely on the client's side of the table in a new and demanding market.
Since then we've worked tirelessly on our clients' behalf — first helping them transition into the open electric markets in Texas and beyond, then keeping their operations competitive as new terms, rules, and opportunities arise.
Decisions have to be made in both regulated and deregulated markets. We make them with our clients, not for a supplier.

An economist's eye on every kilowatt.
With twenty-five years in the energy market and a doctorate in economics, Dr. Ferry is adept at pinpointing — and solving — the problems clients face in choosing the source of, and managing the use of, their electricity and natural gas supply.
Not a one-time quote. A long-term seat at your table.
Our clients stay with us for years. Near-term decisions are bid-oriented — but the longer game is where we earn our keep.
Budget maintenance
We keep your energy spend predictable, flagging drift before it becomes a line-item surprise.
Performance monitoring
Ongoing identification of performance issues across every site we represent.
Power-factor penalties
We catch and correct the avoidable charges most buyers never notice.
Demand response
We surface new programs and opportunities to turn your load into leverage.
A deliberately diverse client base.
From statehouses to shop floors, our clients span the full spectrum of energy users — and most of them have stayed with us for the long haul.
